So a manual swap is on the bottom of the list. Picked up my Crown Vicbeater from the shop this morning and drove back home to Fairfax to take care of some business.

Roof rack definitely added unnecessary drag and I lost a good 3 or 4 MPG, for now it’s staying on, but I’ll try and build a suitable deflector

This weekend I’ll be digging around junked mustangs for new heads, should I take the intakes as well ?

What other Mustang bits should I salvage ?

I have the Romeo 281 CID 4.6

Not in the condition the body is in. Any upgrade I do with this one will be purely mechanical or practical. Like the driving light I'm installing.

3-4mpg because of roof racks? Im not sure. Maybe bad winter blend gas, heavy traffic or the cold snap, but Im super hard pressed to say roof racks cause that much drag, especially just a tube frame.

When it gets very cold, my p71 drops to like 16 mpg (I once got 13mpg on a tank used entirely for short commutes), so I wouldn’t count it all as your roof rack. Temperature and crappy winter-blend fuel make a pretty big difference.
